HI.
Am searching for a head for my 1947 G3L and came across the above listing on ebay. My current head has only 7 fins where this has 9. I have a 500 iron head as well and this has 9 fins but the exhaust port has a spigot. The surface area for the barrel/head joint is also different, mine having a round ring joint only. Can anyone shed any light on this please.
Thanks
Ray

Re: G3L Head
Hi Ray, IMHO the 500 cast iron head is no good for your 48 G3L. From memory all cast iron 350 heads were the same from 1941 up to & including 1948. I can't say without checking in the garage how many fins there are on a 350 head but I think you are correct in saying there is no projecting spigot for the exhaust pipe to fit on.

Re: G3L Head
Thank you 57 typhoon.
The 500 head I have is for a G80 motor I am in the process of restoring? The head on offer appears to have characteristics of both the 350 and 500.
