From memory there is an internal wiring difference between the 63SA and 88SA switches, (can't put my finger on exactly what though).

Morning! You are correct!!! There is definitely an internal wiring difference. If you use the standard 88SA it doesn't connect brown and white (power from ammeter) to the white cable (power to coil) therefore now spark!! Spent ages after I'd rewired trying to work out what I'd done wrong. So I've bought a good condition used 63SA. Now I have a working machine!

'I am swapping it with a Modern Genuine Lucas Loom.' Love it. The box says Lucas, so its got to be genuine Lucas, but who and where are they made.
