Pressed steel Chaincase to crankcase gasket

Post by TRFell »

Hello all,
Just checking the steel washer/gasket with 3 holes in and the large hole for the crankcase boss, does this fit in between the inner chaincase and the crankcase? Or does it fit on the inside of the inner chaincase? Does any one know the part number? the only part l can find is '023104 gasket, for back portion of front chaincase'
thanks

There's only the paper gasket that you have the part number for. I'm presuming it's an alloy chaincase.

Hi

It sounds like a previous owner may have added the shim to adjust the chain case position.

What year is the engine / crank case, (first two numbers before the slash of the engine number)?

Regards Mick

PS - Chain case type is in the title Dave -

Ha ha , it was getting a bit late!

I don't use any gasket on the tin chaincase to crankcase. Just a nice bead of silicone.

Thanks for your replies, the suggestion it may have beenadded/ used to move the steel case outboard a bit is likely the case, because with the correct spacer (1 13/32'') length between engine plate to inner chaincase there is a corresponding gap.
The spacer looked like a professionally made/original part?
Thanks
