G3L - Help date and tank

Hi all,

i'm pretty new in the forum and in the club. I bought a basket project with a matchelss G3L rigid with the frame number 55681, register for the first time in Italy in 1947, but i'm not sure it is the correct year and engine number G3 97778, which i guess is not the correct one.
(I have attached pictures)

In the basket there was a tank, which i guess it's not the correct one beacuse mounting holes are not aligned on one side, and aslo because the handle bare holding nuts are touching, do you have any idea how i could identify a correct tank?
