Bagged my first 57 G3

Post by oasist1980_LAPSED »

Managed to bag myself my first lovely G3 :P

Bike advertised at £3500 I Payed £2950

Few things needed to get her great

Slight fuel leak from both taps (looks like from the thread)

Slight oil leak from the primary case

Slight play (left to right) from the front wheel.

I'm assuming these things are an easy fix I believe I may have bagged a bargain?

Many thanks

You can use PTFE tape on the thread and you can get a 1/8 gas Dowty washer. There's an improved seal for the primary chaincase but wait until you check where it's coming from. Might be there's too much oil in there. It only need to just touch the very bottom of the primary chain. The front whell has to have some play as it has taper roller bearings. If it's too much you can adjust it up slightly. Be careful it needs say 1/16 play or so at the rim. Enjoy your new bike!
