G3 piston

I have just had my 1964 G3 restored and have a question about the piston.
The piston that came with the bike is flat topped with two cutouts for the valves. It works OK but I am sure it is not correct for the bike. I did locate an oversize piston. This is heavily domed with large cutouts for the valves. It is made by AE and the number inside is 16290. The seller claims this is for my G3 and is of 8.5 to 1cr. Does anyone know if this is the correct piston for my bike?
