1955 Matchless G80/S

G/day One and All,

I have purchased a Rocker Box, supposedly for the above bike and find that the two jets of oil against the side of the outer two tappet rocker arms are blanked off.
I have drilled out the centre of the blanks with a 1/16" drill but find that still there is no oil coming through - does anyone know what the original diameter is so that I can drill that size hole, as at present I think that I may have just created two Cylinders, leaving a thin wall which is preventing the oil flow.
Could anyone throw some light on what Rocker cover it is, year etc and why were the feeds blanked off in the first place.

Could it be that the spray that builds up is itself sufficient lubricant for this relatively highly stressed area and the pressure has been transfered to say, the inlet valve Guide which I understand has been some riders problem in the past
