Thanks every one,but I got them apart using the wooden block & wedge method which worked ok,there is no threaded collar just the seal.Martin.

Well as we surely know, there is no such thing. Perhaps an explanation from Jim would be helpful.

Indeed,Although the original metal cased seal could be mistaken for one I suppose,but it did hold me up for a couple of days.
