Karol I am not sure why you make the comment "I am not concerned with the rivet counters that seem to belittle many of the mongrel/hybrid bikes........." I don't think that has been the reaction on this site.
Stephen specifically asked in his first post " I appreciate your feedback re originality,........." as he tried to find out more about his bike he had purchased. A number of people pointed out the mix of parts and more than one of advised him not to worry and ride the bike instead of trying to achieve originality. I have 4 AMC machines and one early AJS, not a single one is "original". I imagine very few are.

As ever it's always entightening and interesting to see your posts/comments.
My "rivet counter" comment had nothing to do with anyone's comments in this post
and was just my generalising about not worrying about not having a "perfect example of the marque
But enjoying the sum of the parts be they blue AJS or red Matchless.
