1956 G80s Piston

Post by spookefoote1956 »

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a standard piston with rings. They seem awfully expensive from the sources I have found. Any tips would be most appreciated.

I'm afraid that they are going to be expensive from wherever you buy them.
There are only two main producers - JP (Australia), GPM (Italy) and given the numbers of 'bikes on the road the volume is never going to be high enough to drive prices down.

You might be (very) lucky to find a n.o.s item that is still "sensibly" priced.

Thanks for all the help. I have ordered a standard piston from FW Thornton and the barrel will be re-sleeved by Weir Light Engineering of Blackburn.
