I have not tried that Mick - but I don't think it will because the ignition is already ready retarded due the non-optimum mixture making for a slower flame front - I'll try it though.

Hi

I think you need to go back to basic settings - you have a new carb, re-set it to the manufacturer's recommendations.

There's no reason to have the ignition fully retarded - this suggests that the timing is incorrect so re-set this and go for a ride.

Another thought - is the seal on the inlet tract, (where the carb joins the head), a good one? If the above doesn't work try wrapping some insulation tape around the joint and see if that improves things.

The timing is not fully retarded, its timed properly. Thank for all your suggestions.
