Where can I find a piston. with higer copression
for my standard 1954 G80s. the piston altso need
to be +60. And what kind of cams can I fitt to make
the bike just a little bitt stronger.larsiboy@frisurf.no

If you don't find any local suppliers, here in Australia JP Pistons can supply a range that may have a suitable one for you - they don't list your year, don't know why. I haven't dealt with them, but others here say they are good.

The club spares scheme list a +60 piston which i suspect is higher compression than the original fitment in the 54 models which had to put up with 1 star pool petrol when new.

Regarding cams i believe that a higher lift cam is available and was used for scrambles models . I have a recollection that they were marked with an HT or similar.

I have had the same thoughts about my 54 AJS 18S but i have come to appreciate the easy starting, low down torque, reliable and frugal ways of the standard set up that still gives a cosy touring speed of 65mph when called upon.
