Wondering where you were in this Tom; I would not be surprised to find this is a BSA chaincase botched on somehow, rather than an alloy one.
Glad the Danes do irony, I was wondering if this query coming from the land of bacon, some gammon might not be about?

Ken, funny you should mention the BSA chaincase because I actually sold one of these to a Danish feller, which didn't really know what he was looking for (haven't we all been there!). But he insisted on bying nevertheless! Couldn't have been Lasse though, having just bought the beast.
Alan with your last contribution Lasse could face three scenarios:
1. A BSA or even other non AMC chaincase has been crafted on.
2. The clutch dome has indeed been mistaken for the entire chaincase.
3. The AMC alu chaincase of the late 50ies has been modified and fitted. A friend of mine has done this despite a lot of machining and welding being needed.
But let's wait for the pictures to arrive before final judgement.
Ken, bacon is no longer our prime export product! Instead we have a handful of drawers who have managed to export their works of art to the entire muslim world . Not bad, but also not without side effects!!! Sorry no gammon for you this time

It is steel.
I am able to remove some cover, to adjust the clutch, without removing the whole outer primary cover.
Gotta try with the profile an silcone.
Just don't know where to get the profile seal...

Lasse,
we still don't know what type of chaincase you have, but the neoprene mushroom profile seal will probably only fit the AMC pressed steel chaincase. If you have the BSA type I am not sure if this profile will fit, or at least it will be too thick to fit. But anyway if we end up finding out you have the correct AMC chaincase, I'll get you an address or a telephone number to order the neoprene seal. Get those photos uploaded to avoid wasting more time...

Well, Lassenc, that is indeed a curious item; an AMC chaincase modified to look like a BSA one, and it still does not hold oil.
Not much I can suggest, other than throw it away and buy the correct items.
Home made brake pedal as well.
Lets have more photos of all of the bike, you have a project on your hands here I think.
Strrt searching on ebay as well.

but it ain`t working thats why you are here
Its an AJS all right but not as we know it!!
not to my taste, but you like it so thats ok.
Just be careful when ordering parts for such a non standard bike, and be be prepared for small problems.
As for the problems with the leaking non standard chaincase . only you will be able to solve that challenge. good luck

When saying if it's working don't fix it, I meant stuff like the brake pedal and such.
