Thanks for the further comments and following on from my post about the centre stands, I went out for a ride before my latest (current) trip to Scotland. Got up to an indicated speed of over 70 but which would've equated to true speed of 70ish.

Tried putting on a little choke but forgot that I had tightened the nut up quite a bit as I usually require no choke to start up. Nearly came off trying to shift it but the effect was small on the engine. It did seem to slow a little. I'll repeat it when I get back.

I may pop the (very worn) concentric back on and see what the difference is!

More important at present to check / change the front fork oil. Then fit the new centre stand. Just changed the engine and gearbox oil.

Thanks again for the guidance. I need to focus on the fact that all's working and make sure that I make it to the Jampot as I won't get to Santarem IJR because of a mix of work and family commitments.
