Hello,
Maybe this has been asked before in which case please excuse me. I just put a set of Avon Roadriders on my venerable T 140 and am so impressed with the resulting handling that I am thinking about a set for my 1952 18s. Has anyone else in this august company done the same and if that is the case what dimensions did you fit and what was the result? Given that here in deepest Burgundy roads are in good condition, there is little traffic and the speed limit is now a stately 50mph (for motorcars) we 'motards' tend not to hang around too much!!
Talking of deepest Burgundy we have a large community who ride bikes from the last century. Every third odd week of August we do a ride of about 120 miles culminating in a bbq along with the local spring water from the Chablis area. It is a simple family affair. Anyone around the Auxerre/Avallon region next year would certainly be welcome.
Best to all.

Re: Roadrider tyres
Hi Krishna, very good to meet you last week! For the equivalent tyre sizes I have :
100/90 = 3.25, 3.50, 3.60
110/90 = 3.50, 3.75, 4.10
120/90 = 4.00, 4.25
I think, therefore, on the front a 100/90 and rear 110/90 would be good fitments. On the G80 CS I just sold I had put a 110/90 rear but it looked too thin as the original tyre was a 4.00. Aesthetically unpleasing but it held the road really well, for a road model to replace a 3.50 I'm sure it would fit the bill.

Re: Roadrider tyres
I have Avon RRs om my G80s (1954) and noticed recently, I have been getting a few scrapes on the underside of the silencer - you won't be disappointed!

Re: Roadrider tyres
Hi Krishna
I tend to use 3.25 x 19 or 90x90 x 19 on the front and 100/90 x 19 on the rear, you normally need to fit the front wheel with the tyre deflated to get it past the mudguard supports, not sure how much clearance a 100/90 would have but would be interested to hear.

Re: Roadrider tyres
I happened to measure a 100/90 Bridgestone on a WM2 rim yesterday and it is 94 mm wide.

Re: Roadrider tyres
I'm also using the Roadriders, was out this evening. Can't recall the sizes but do have to partially deflate the front tyre to get it in.
Also (now) using noticeably higher pressure compared with previously and the improvement is noticeable compared with the the lower pressures I was using. Currently at 32 rear and 28 front PSI.
