Part numbers

Post by chaz_lithik »

Hello all,

Firstly I am a new member from Essex UK so hello, I look forward to meeting you at club events.

I have a 1952 matchless g80s, the bike has been standing a few years and I'm in the process of getting it up and running again. At this point I have got her started and oil flowing. I am now progressing to getting it to idle and run well, are there any tips for setting the carb up?

My main question was is there somewhere to find out the part numbers of for instance the air control cable?

Your help would be appreciated

Yes the spares list! You need to spend a couple of hours looking at the fantastic resources on the archives. http://archives.jampot.dk/book/Spares_l ... ingles.pdf
Should get you to your spares list and
http://archives.jampot.dk to the general website. Look at the workshop manuals and owners manual (owners manual came with a new bike) and you will find lots to help you, apart from advice on this forum.

Welcome to the club by the way.

Hi

Here's the guide to setting up an Amal Monobloc:

There's plenty of other good info on the Burlen, (Amal), website, well worth an explore.

If you haven't already done so I'd strip and clean the carb before trying to set it up.

Regards Mick

Hi

That's great thank you very much both!

Have ordered the bits I need and the carb is apart currently cleaning it out. The float bowl looked more like a flower pot with soil in the bottom of it!
