Rear brake plate 1956 G80

Post by brian laud »

I'm rebuilding a 56 G80 as original as possible . Bike was originally an export as it was repatriated from Tanzania in 2000. Rear brke plate is black . Should it be the one with chrome cover? If so ,are parts interchangeable or do i have to change brake drum etc?

Yes, the brake plate with a riveted on chrome cover is correct. It is shown in the spares list as a single assembled unit (partno. 022264), not available seperately. Up to and including 1954 the single sided hub with a different brake plate was used.
