My 54 G80S, bought recently, keeps “surging†when trying to establish tickover. Original carb abandoned in favour of a concentric Mk1
Starts ok but won't settle down. Using the adjuster in the cable and slide stop screw I can get a tickover then it will start to get faster all by itself. More adjustments result in cutting out.
Any ideas?
Andy

Is it a new concentric? Symptoms sound like a worn slide allowing air round the side.

Hi
I think you need to adjust the air screw - work through this guide:

I think, Clive is right. It's the symptom I experienced with the Concentric that I wore out. New "correct" carb from AMOC spares and all good. No amount of adjustment would get the worn out Concentric to tick over.
