I am overhauling a newly bought 1956 G80S engine from Africa. The
front chaincase has damaged the crankcase and has cut off a part of
it where the outer main bearing is situated.
The question is: What is the bore length where the outer bearing
is situated. I have 2 different outer diameters for the two bearings,
the inner bearing 2-1/2 inches and the outer bearing 2-1/4 inches.
The bore length for the inner bearing is 21,7 mm and the bore for the
outer bearing seem to be 13,8 mm. Is this last figure correct?
