Oil filter
I purchased a new oil filter and end washer from the parts club . When i fit it without the end washer everything fits good but with the washer it wont fit the washer doesn't fit over whatever is at the bottom of the engine tunnel . Should I make the hole in the washer bigger , this is on a 55 G9 . Thanks for your help .

Re: Oil filter
There shouldn't be anything at the end of the filter tunnel on a '55 crankcase. I would get a torch and have a look along it. have a look at the order of the oilfilter parts. This is a '59 manual (no illustration of it in the '55 manual).

I'm not sure what you mean by washer, do you mean the steel cup which pushes onto the filter? Do you have the other parts, i.e. the alloy valve and spring?
Dave.

It looks like the alloy 'valve' that should be on the other end. It should pull out, perhaps a bent bit of wire might get it.
