Check for out of roundness of the big end of the con rods. they need to be round before you fit the shells. most go out of round( a few thou) in use. Best to sort that out soon. I got told that by the firm that did my crankshaft regrind and they know a lot about AMC engine stuff. T& l engineering, advertise in the club mag.

Best of luck with your rebuild. Make sure you get the centre web the right way round
