G9 1953 Noise

Post by aryden »

I wonder, which clearance is allowed on cam-followers sideways, G9 1953, I can move them 2-3 mm.
I´m asking because there is a noise in the area at the cylinder base or crankcase (timing-case), I suspect cam-followers or that the timing gears are making the noise (rattle).
I also attached a photo on the push rods, I do not know if the damage is fresh or if it is old damage. What might have caused this?

Valve clearance is 0.006" (which converts to 0.1524mm). I hope thats correct.
Dave.

Do you have the small spacer 018680, it is a 4mm long spacer (washer), it fits between the crankcase and the camfollower

I have seen this type of damage to pushrods due to badly made head gaskets, where the holes are not correctly aligned.
