1956 and 1957 Cases compare to M.31 cases

Post by cf160 »

I wonder if some knowledgeable souls know if the cases for the 1956 and '57 Model 30's were identical to the Model 31 cases of the same years? I have just found a good '57 drive side case and wonder if it
will bolt up correctly with the Model 31 timing side I have in the basement? I know the strokes are slightly different, but that may not matter.

Well , it turns out there were no model 31's until
1959 or 60, so I guess I don't have to worry about the problem as my cases, cranks, barrels, heads etc
must all be model 30's , no 31's at all except for my 1961 which turns out to be more rare than I thought. Which really does help my twin project
bike as I have the frame ,wheels engine tank gearbox. Now all I need is the forks.
Thanks ,
