I am restoring a 1958 Matchless G11CSR 600 Twin.I have original wire wound piston without rings. I bought rings from Jampot spares but have now heard that they may not fit my pistons. They are GPM rings. Is this true? Why is this? and will i need to buy new pistons? The rings fit and look ok except the chrome plated top ring is not marked top...should it be as the oil ring is marked top.
Thanks for any help.

If there is no visible chamfer or bevel inside or outside it shouldn't matter.

Matchless 600 Twin Pistons and rings??
I understand that the rings available from Jampot Spares are for the pistons they are currently selling, and these have either deeper or wider grooves than the original AMC pistons. You must check that the rings you have will fit in the piston grooves, so that they will go flush with the piston surface.
