Fork springs

Post by bob121 »

1960 Model 31 DL. Running what I assume are the original springs. Generally the ride is ok. But any extra effort, a bit firmer on the brake etc, then they just give up really.
Does anyone provide, or can provide a set of progressive springs. Alternatively, I had considered the sidecar springs. But I found alot of comments about those being too firm and worsening the ride.
I weigh in at around 15 stone.

You don't want to use sidecar springs but try to seek out a set of CSR ones, that's halfway between the sidecar and standard set up. To be fair I'm the wrong side of 19 st (only just!) and it's not been too much of a concern for me on standard springs, yes they dive but in a controlled manner. Alternatively you could experiment with heavier grade oil for the time being.
