Wiring a 63sa switch for a magdyno

Post by ixonchitts »

Hi,
I have a 1960 G12 with magdyno. It has an MCH 61 headlight shell to which the previous owner fitted two toggle switches. I want to replace these with appropriate lighting switch and dummy ignition switch. The 41sa switch won't fit the hole in the shell so I have a 63sa switch but cant work out how to connect for a magdyno. I 've searched on line to no avail. Has anyone got a wiring diagram, or can advise me which wires go to which terminals?
Thanks
Steve

I'm not familiar with the 63sa switch but there are wiring diagrams and switch configurations on page 68 onward of this Workshop Manual which may help you to decipher the connections:

This any good? - from a two minute Google search........

Thanks, I had found that diagram but I believe the 63sa and later 88sa were used on models with alternators and ignition switches. The wiring on mine matches that for 1960/61 magneto twins in the workshop manual, with 7 terminals. How do I translate that to a 63sa switch with 10 terminals with no alternator?

Magneto twins.pdf
You could try this diagram ignoring the alternator connections. Bill
