Hello ,
Now I'm building the engine and it's an curiosity again . Is it possible that the gears in both oil pumps are the same width 10 mm ( ca. 3/8 " ) ? They look different the outside , but the gears are the same width in both. Is this okay ? Can it work well ? Was that originally the case in 1959 ?

No, the return pump must be bigger than the feed pump or it will wet sump when you're riding.

Yes , that's what I thought, too, but I don't understand why there are two pumps of the same size in the motor .
