029446 Spacer - info needed
Gents,
029446 Spacer for support tube (rear mudguard) goes between the schock's top pivot and the mudguard on most roadsters 1963-66/68.
This part seems to be extremely rare. I will have to fabricate some. Anyone have a sample and can make me a dimensioned sketch ?
Cheers,
Knut

Thank you Mick. With your aid I was able to locate the part in their extended parts list. I have received confirmation Norvil will be able to suppply.
Another obstacle to my restoration has been removed!
Thanks again,
Knut

Knut,
On my circa 1965 bikes, the spacer measures 7/8" outside diameter x 1_5/16" long, centre hole would be the same as the shockabsorber. ( OD 22.3 mm 33 mm long)

Thank you Rob.
I will verify the samples received from Norvil M/C using your data. The spacer is somewhat special in that it has an internal recess for the "hat nut" (p/n 016712) that goes through the mudguard.
I may commission a batch of these spacers if the samples received aren't accurately made.

Knut,
I haven't ever removed that spacer, so I didn't know about the recess in the back, I felt what I thought was a weldnut on the inside of the 'guard. I can remove one and give you the sizes.

Wow! i am indebted to you, Rob! Thank you so much.
And I hope this will be of use to others as well, given the scarcity of these parts.

Great Britain adopted the metric system in 1965, which happens to be the year of manufacture of the spacer I measured, so at least AMC made a start!clive wrote:I had not realised we went metric so early!
