Hi
The bike would have been supplied with an AMC gearbox installed, this type of box has a filler cap. (top rear), held on by two screws.
Do you know that the box is empty or are you assuming this because you cannot select any gears?
Regards Mick

If it were 'empty', there wouldn't be a clutch or primary drive on the missing end of the missing guts and it wouldn't be possible to kick it over.
I think more info is needed if any meaningful reply can be offered!
The good news is that there is lots of good info and data on AMC boxes available on here and elsewhere.

What a surreal thread. Is it a wind-up?

It could be that the clutch isn't engaged - probably stating the obvious, but don't kick with the clutch lever pulled in. Perhaps the cable is stuck, or the clutch adjuster is wound far too far in. Maybe the clutch springs haven't been tightened sufficiently.67trumpy wrote:when i go to kick it over theres no resistance
The kickstart itself may not be engaging.
Can you push the bike forward and back and select different gears, and neutral?
