1959 Matchless G12 Road Test

Post by malcolmdr »

Hello all,

You might remember last May, (the last lockdown!) I posted a few videos of a piston mod' I did on my '59 G12. I promised at the time I would put up a vid' of the finished article and a road test.

Well, after much interruption, like going back to work, I managed to put this vid' together:

I hope you enjoy the ride, and in these miserable days of Covid and winter weather, it will cheer you up a bit and let you look forward to better times.

Stay safe and well.

Malcolm.

Thanks for posting the video. I've not been out on my G80 for 15 months now, and really miss it.

You have made a very nice job of that. That's a lovely looking bike and it sounds really nice too.

Beautiful riding country and not another vehicle in sight.

Very easy-on-the-senses filming too, without blurry vibration, rattling or periods of just sky or front wheel like so many are (not that I could do any better).
How was the camera mounted, on a waist belt?

Pleasure Samuel,

Let's hope there's better times soon when we can all get out on our bikes!

Thank you Spriddler!

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

My GoPro Hero7 was mounted on a chest harness which seems to give the right height and perspective. I wish I'd shot it at 60fps instead of 50fps though!

You are an happy man, Malcolm : not even a car, a truck, a farm tractor for miles of lanes ! The bike is immaculate, the video is superb...
