Help identifying a frame..
Hello all, I just bought what I thought and was advertised as a N15 CS lot, there are no papers. It's missing a lot of parts engine etc. and is really a frame. It appears to have a few actual N15/G15 parts in the lot i.e. brakes which is what is confusing me.
Frame numbers reads A79XXX
I need some help identifying it, but I understand from those numbers that it actually corresponds to a G12 frame? I know that some G12 frames in 1965 actually received Atlas engines before they became the G15. I'm happy for the bike to be a G12 so long as I get to use the Atlas engine without issue when it comes to 1) mounting it and 2) registering the bike.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help identifying a frame..
Depending on year, G15 may have AMC or Norton forks. The head race bearings in the frame are different for the two. Cheers, Don.

You may find its 1961. Contact the club dating officer to confirm just what year and model the frame was for.

Are the frames actually identical between the G12 and G15? Just different bearings?Don Madden wrote:Depending on year, G15 may have AMC or Norton forks. The head race bearings in the frame are different for the two. Cheers, Don.

Re: Help identifying a frame..
Hi there, the frames do look similar but the main difference I remember is the front engine mounting lug is in a different position. I've got a 1967 G15 and a 1960 Model 31 to compare. I think the lugs for the head steady are also different. Just been out on the 31 to buy a paper, I'll be out on the G15 soon to buy maps for the IJR trip. If I see any other points I'll post 'em up!

I only have a 64 CSR maybe not the correct parts list, but in the parts lists I have I see quite different frames for 1961 to 1965. New frame dating features are, 1963 new rear sub frame. 1964 shorter rear sub frame.
