Sppedo and tacho question for G15

Post by StuartN »

I am not certain I have the correct speedo and tacho fitted to my 1966 G15. I am uncertain if one or both are defective or just the wrong ones. They are Smiths grey faced magnetic type. Can anyone give me the Smiths part numbers and ratios (I need both to be sure).

Sppedo and tacho question for G15

Post by ranger »

Tacho and speedo are magnetic grey faced - speedo with side trip aperture if fitted, both Smiths 2-1 (1600). Doesn't matter whether you have trip or not but originally, no trip on speedo. Tacho drive REQUIRED IS 1-1, not 2-1!!!! Speedo drive is Smiths 2-1. For pt nos, check out website of A Gagg & Sons, Nottingham.

The smiths book lists 1966/7 all G15s as SSM3001/00 speedo and RSM 3003/00E for tachometer, Hope this helps.
