G15CSR

Post by John Jarrett »

I often browse the forums but very rarely post. I have just started a project and I am trying to source some parts for a 1965 G15CSR.
If anyone can help with where I might be able to find the items I need, I would be grateful for your help.

1. Foot rests and rear set brake pedal. Alternativley a picture of how they mount and I can cut and shut an earlier brake pedal.
2. Front mudguards and stays.
3. Rear Mudguard, support stay, bridge and number plate.

Many thanks
John

Spriddlers photo link is further confirmation of something I have noticed before: the great majority of photographs are of the right hand side. I think we should all make an effort to include both sides as it is very frustrating when trying to research anything.

Try Walridge Motors, as Mike Partridge has a large amount of parts for the G15CSR. Also look for the 1982 Classic Bike that has the road test of Paul Morins G15CSR. As for the rear sets, there was meant to be some guy in Finland that was going to make the rear brake pedal. Martin Bratby has the correct brake springs i gave him an original to copy. The G15CSR also had two types of exhaust pipes made for it. One pair was straight the other type were bent to a shallow S shape. The G15CSR also had a different specs for the later years. Walridge has those mudgurds. Renovation Spares would also have them, as i supplied him with originals to copy.

A salutory anecdote.
Commando engines are inclined.
When the first prototypes were built using the Atlas engine they suffered from oil starvation because inclineing the engine altered the level of the oil in the sump away from the return pipe.
dis-inclineing [ wow a new word] it may possibly throw up unforeseen problems.

Of course I should have just asked "why?"
