to what is written a few yeaRS AGO
Unfortunately I will never race the Matchless G85CS due to one bad and one even more worse knee
caused by reumatic trouble
struggle with it untill pain getting in future worse and go for a plastic, steel or stainless steel knee
after I have pain stage 3 of 4 I will undertake surgery

in future there will be a time to sell both my G85CS.......and collect poststamps or coins
oh yeah every country has series of euro coins............love it #@%&$%@$#(&$^%*($&#^%#$

Itma,
that's very interesting nonetheless. Being an engineer and historically interested, I have researched life at AMC quite a bit in recent years. I suppose you have read the "Apprentice" book? You have a lot to fill in there I guess.

One issue has been on my mind for years: I would like to recreate a layout plan of the factory. Are you able to offer some advise? Even though you were a fitter, I assume you knew the various departments? There are some clues in the Apprentice book and in various mag articles but nothing conclusive.

emmm??? There's lay up plans of each floor of the factory in Bill Cakebreads " Matchless Apprentice " book. Although changes took place, so lay out depends on the era. New book by Bill coming out soon.

Some details above via the late John & Rose Rourke although Johns time at Plumsted was 1928/ early 60's, Rose 1941 until John walked out in discussed at what was going on, Rose soon followed.

Whats a IPB ?......very shiny bikes....bet they havnt seen a race track in a while.....The Matchless G85cs was only fitted with a GP2 carb in that series that were sent to the states ...also a BSA B50 rear wheel fitted to one of them and two lugs holding the rear mudguard by the seat is not correct for a G85.....nor the black seat cover
