Can any one help with a kickstart quadrant or name of any one making them. Bike otherwise complete.

Have samne requirement for a K8, probably same quadrant.
I hear that these can be remanufactured, e.g. by Robin James in the UK (www.robinjamesengineering.com) but also here in Switzerland by a
friend who runs a mechanic workshop and restores old UK cars.

Hi Jack,
My problem is I cannot get one to copy. If you are able to have a run made I am sure there would be a demand and it gets the cost down. It is the same as mine .
Quadrant - part G 171
Kickstart - part G 173
I am also after the kickstart lever but hoped to make one up.
Please let me know your thoughts and if there is anything you are short of.
Cheers
Graeme

I will be in the UK July 9. and see a few AJS freaks and inquire details. After I will be back home, shall make decisions how to proceed.

I believe some parts were being made by prewar e group members, did you join?
If really stuck for a kick starter arm, something looking like the real thing could be easily made from a push bike pedal arm,
you will also need the pedal, stripped to just the spindel arm, for the rubber etc.

P.S. I have a push bike one that was claimed to be AJS as it came off an AJS, only the rubbers had been removed from the pedal, so when kicked the pedal bearings still there, allowed the rubber to turn. I guess this was left in place as it was the same dia as a kick starter rubber.
The push bike arm maybe slightly smaller than the gen AJS arm for the 500 K8, Probably only you will know this as the kick starter arm and push bike pedal arms look the same.
