Looking for help with K7

Post by Bright But Idle »

Hi all,

I'm a pretty recent member and this is my first post, so please be gentle.

My brother and I have recently inherited the family collection of bikes and bike parts.

Bottom line is we're probably only be able to keep couple each (lack of space and strong minded wives sadly) and then begrudgingly sell the rest.

One of the bikes we're looking to "collect together" is a K7, but we're struggling to with some parts as we can't find reference pics to work from.

As the family motto has always been "if you pull them apart, we'll fit more in the sheds" it's not quite as easy as it could have been.

The biggest issue at the moment is the flywheel, con rod and piston. We might have them amongst the parts (yes, we have more than a few) but without knowing what we're looking for we're struggling. Would anyone on here be able to help with images so we can sort through the parts we have?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

PS I'll post a picture of the "collection" if anyone is interested.

Here's what we currently have:

I can help.
e mail me at prewar@jampot.com with frame engine and gearbox numbers.
engine and gearbox should be on a brass plate, frame on right hand side at the end of the tube runing under the tank just below the saddle. Rob Harknett club prewar officer

WOW!!!
Lucky you, and how fascinating.
Please post lots more pictures, they've stopped making those lovely old bikes; pity about the wives, mind you, they are still in mass production.

Robin,
Are you by any chance related to Ian ? Quotes like that about memsahibs can lead to withdrawal of privileges such as using the gas stove for soldering, releasing bearings, annealing, enamelling etc.
Best regards.

Well, I haven't got any more to hand of the K7, but here's how the "unit" looked fairly recently.

It's a bit more cluttered already and we haven't brought the forks and wheels over yet!

Does it qualify as porn on here? ;)

Gosh, looks like heaven! I can see Matchy G? and is that a super rocket in the foreground? Good luck sorting it all out.
