AJS Model 22 250 1937

Post by AJS 18500 »

Can anyone help .
My little 250 big end gave out on the VMCC club run Boxing Day just as we got to the pub.

I'm looking for parts..
Piston and rings+20 and either a new big end or second hand crank.
So far I've had no luck tracing parts.
I have been told an early 350 engine would go in?
I would fit either 250 or 350 as I have a 350 CP gearbox fitted.
The bike was a barn find and has been restored to a competition style bike.
Any and all help and advice greatly appreciated.
Im currently restoring a 18s 1954 500 single, once complete i will strip the 250 engine down. 500 is nearly done.

Crank pin broken, looks like big end maybe ok.
Pin measures 3/4" diameter. Anyone know where I could obtain one?
Big end is u/s, but I can machine a pin from EN24T, but I still need a big end bearing. Anyone have any alternatives to the standard bearing or where I can obtain a drilled inner bearing sleeve. I.D 3/4 O/D 31/64"
Nightmare outside Dia.
Thanks
Clive
