AJS R2 1930 1000cc. Are steering head bearings available for this model (they may be the same as later models) or is a conversion to taper bearings relatively easy.
Or is it a case of finding an engineering company who will grind out the imperfections in the old cups. If you have experience of this situation your help is much appreciated. Also mine has sidecar gearing, are solo gears available - either old stock (unlikely) or a company that will modify sprocket with more teeth!
Many Thanks
John Larkham

John, I did follow up your phone call to me with an e mail to you. I did not get a reply. Perhaps I got your address wrong? It should had reached you as it was not returned undelivered. I have sent another e mail today.

It might be worth contacting these specialists who can supply sprockets and blanks.larkham wrote: Also mine has sidecar gearing, are solo gears available - either old stock (unlikely) or a company that will modify sprocket with more teeth!
