You need to decide if you want legality or a working indication of speed, for example GPS as a primary source is not permitted if you are going for an individual vehicle approval https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/738819/individual-vehicle-approval-inspection-manual-passenger-vehicles.pdf , that said who is to know if you still have an original item apparently plumbed in but still double check on an auxiliary unit.

Just to let you know BRITISH ONLY AUSTRIA are having a batch of speedo drive shafts made in the next few months.

registered after July 1937 need a speedo. You will need proof the bike was registered before 1937 Back in the 50's I had to show police my log book.
