re information on wheels.
I took the wheels to talons in yeovil somerset so they could see the arrangement of spokes before i stripped the wheels.
Then i soaked the hubs in a weak solution of caustic soda to clean all the crud off.
A rub down with some 120 grit wet and dry.
Sprayed on some self etching primer and some chip resistant satin black.
All the polishing on the bike was down by me.
the bill for the re lace of the wheels with stainless spokes came to £296.87

If it is of any interest I have just had the wheels of my G3S rebuilt by Thor Motorcycles in Bodmin Cornwall. New st st rims and spokes on my original hubs, cleaned by me, and the total bill was £440. Your estimation must be right on the button.
