Suffolk and beyond - June & July

Post by 196016 »

British bike meet 29th May - Excellent turn out , good show fron Norfolk section and North Essex and many more we didn't Know.

Friday 2nd June - Display at Sue Ryder home , Ipswich. A good show by the section , very much appreciated by the people . We didn't leave until the middle of the afternoon as the staff had put on a BBQ for us.-We have decided to donate the proceeds from the draw at next years Jampot to the home and hope we will have an even bigger disply of bikes on the Friday after the rally(most of us will be on holiday and recovering)

Meanwhile in Holland , Jim , Maurice and Dave where enjoying the hospitality of the Dutch.

Sunday 11th June - Run to Euston Park for Rural Pastimes. Nice run round the back of Stowmarket. Not a bad show but too hot to take the bikes round the ring as requested.

Monday 12th - Club night , hot and sticky in pub ,wet and windy
outside.

Wednesday 21st June - Fish & Chip run to Alderburgh. So where did that lot come from , most people on an evening run for I don't know how long. Great fish & chips and pint of Adnams , nice walk round village and ride in both directions. Will be in programme every year now.

Monday 26th - Evening run - the reason why I always say have a full tank of petrol. The first test of the Sunday run for next years Jampot.Ended at the Cherry Tree at Debenham , 2 miles from the half way stop for the run next year.

July 10th - Club night - New members Sam and Margaret from Dedham , they have a very large Suzuki , 350cc AJS and we understand are buying a new Royal Enfield.
Albert and Richard updated the section on next years Jampot and this years travelling arrangements where sorted.

Saturday 15th - Grundisburgh Village show - was a very hot day so only 4 bikes from the section.

Sunday 16th - run to East Anglian Railway Museum At Chappel in Essex. Why don't Essex CC put road numbers on road signs . We got there in the end , had a good day , chatted to the signalman , had a ride on a train , only problem was lack of refreshments.

Monday 24th - Evening run - Sam and Margaret appeared on a Suzuki -(He did phone to see if it was alright)Richard on his BMW , Alvar on his Rocket Gold Star , Me on the Golden Flash , Albert on his Harris ,Andy on his new Bonneville so not many AMC - only Maurice on his G80 and trevor on his 16. Mick & Chris amd Pete Ranson turned up at the pub later on bikes of the marque.Edited by - 196016 on 03 Aug 2006 11:04:03 AM
