Wet sumping
The following link to posts related to the phenomenon known as "wet sumping". This is more prevalent on the twin engines than singles but both have been know to suffer from it.
Wet sumping occurs when a bike is left for a period of time without the engine being started - the oil in the tank tends to seep past through the oil pump and collects at the bottom of the sump.
