Rex, If you do go for a look, please tell us real size of the back tyre the quoted 130/80/12 has me intrigued.
Cheers, Robin.

I hadn't noticed the 12 bit, was shocked enough at the 130 section for a modern bike! My lad's Aprilia 125 had a 150!
It's all just riding motorbikes

Horses for courses I guess.
As cheap and economical transport for a commuter or student they fill a gap, for a while.
Both my sons commute on their 650 Kawasakis and save between £8 (cheapest) and £25 (dearest) a day to park their cars in NCP central Brighton car parks.

I thought I would have a quick look on the AJS web site for details but its not on there although when you google it you can find it at the dealers in peterborough and also an article in the MCNews.

Think you will find it a bored out version of the old AJS Regal Rapter DD250E-9B. The engine in the 250 is in fact a 234cc twin with all the insides the same as the Honda Rebel but with water cooling.
I have the 250, a 2006 model, and although I don't do a great amount of miles it has always proved to be a reliable and consistant performer. A few small niggles over the years but nothing that couldn't be fixed witha little bit of thought!
I would sum it up as sound engineering but back in 2006 the attention to detail was not at it;s best. Things have improved now I understand.Edited by - stevewatkin on 19 Jul 2012 9:24:51 PM
