Steve , don't get upset if you get a few unhelpful comments from some of the older members of the club . just ride and enjoy
hopefully eventually you will get a classic AJS or Matchless as well

Thanks chaps, i appreciate the positive response. To be honest I expected some negativeness so I'm waiting with baited breath!
It is the only 250 here in the UK and even this has vanished now 'cos those cunning Chinese have found a bigger drill and bored it out to 350 (ish) The engine is a Honda Rebel clone and the quality of engineering is pretty good from what i can see.
I hope we don't hear too many "Chinese is crap" comments 'cos most of you will be viewing this on a computer made in whole or part by our Chinese friends. The Chinese can make both good and bad products like most people can. Even the good old English.
Even in the motorcycle world trusted market leaders like Suzuki are openly admitting that their new 250 is made in China. I suspect that lots of the smaller capacity Jap bikes are in fact Chinese.
So for me this is a real AJS, only because it's sold in the UK by a company called AJS, that's good enough for me!
Does about 70 mph flat out but is much happier at 65 which it seems to be comfortable at all day. And yes it is low, quite a strange riding position for me having never had a bike of this style before.
Different is always interesting!!

You get what you pay for, something cheap is not going to match something costing much more. I brought Lada cars, they were cheap, they did the job I wanted. I got a new one every 2 years so always under warrenty. Insurance was cheap, my mates took the micky, why, my car has much of what your car has, Look, I showed them the parts stamped made in USA yes Ford braking and suspension, Porche designed OHC engine and transmission. Seats are Ford, that only leaves the body, early electrics were made in Hungary I think , not that good, but under warrenty so who cares.

Steve
What sort of mpg do you get out of it, the rebel used to be quite frugal. But also reliable. Does it have electric start as well
