Introducing myself and my new AJS Daytona

Post by Gilj »

Hi Guys,

My name is Jamie and I am from Bristol UK, I have been ridden 125's in the past but some time ago, I am just now taking my direct access and I have my mod1 in a couple of weeks time.

I have my eye on a Harley Dyna 1450 but I really need some practise before my mod1+2 and I wanted to try the chopper style motorcycle before I went and dropped a load of cash on a big one.

I picked this one up yesterday off of a nice chap who had purchased it new for similar reasons to me and he now has a Victory.

Had a long ride home last night and loved every minute of it, I hope there are many more to come before I pass my test and move on.

Here she is:

Look forward to the banter.

Cheers,
Jamie

Glad you are enjoying your new ride. Chopper/cruiser style bikes are not my thing but each to their own and any bike is better than no bike in my opinion!
It's all just riding motorbikes

We should welcome everyone who takes the time to contribute to the forum . I'm pretty sure that many or most of the 125's on the road including AJS badged motorcycles will easily accelerate faster , stop quicker than most of our bikes and probably be more reliable than some !

The point is that at least he has taken the time to contribute!!! I have been on loads of forums in my time covering all sorts of topics and interests and this one,sad to say, has some of the most ignorant, rude and obnoxious members that you could hope to meet. So what if he hasn't got a "genuine" AMC bike like most here!!! I just wish people would be more friendly and encouraging rather than exhibiting such a condescending attitude to those who do not "fit the bill" And us, the older generation, have so much to say about the attitude of the younger generation????? the pot calling the kettle black. and no, I am not a full member of the club for this very reason!!!

G'day Jamie, great picture of your bike, though 'cruiser' style bikes are very popular down here, we don't get to see that make, but mainly only the large capacity Jap and American type to handle the long open roads.
I like those wheels, suits the 'low slung' look of the machine, and that front brake set-up puts my old Honda to shame.

Cheers,
Paul.

But where does the person with their feet on the rear pegs put their bum?

Certainly looks to have enough in the way of brakes to stop a bus doesn't it!

Good luck with your tests Jamie, and ride safely
