Greetings from a AJS daytona owner!

Post by shain1234 »

Hello everyone ! my name is Shain, and im from Oxfordshire UK.
I recently purchased a AJS daytona 125, brand new off the shop floor.
unfortunately i didnt have much luck on my first ride. . . you're all going to love this.
so the shop i purchased from is situated directly next to a fuel station ( some of you already know what is coming )
I later found out they had, had a delivery that morning.

so, its raining ( not a good start ) its brand new, everything feels very fluffy and my first time riding a chopper/low slung bike, so im kinda struggeling anyways but i get use to the riding position and find the clutch breaking point. anyways after about 15 minutes of getting a feel for my new beautiful bike. i leave the shop and BOOM. bike comes out from beneath me, im like HOLY S@!"$@ what just happened?!?!
i pull the bike to one side ( with the rest of the rear break pedal in my hand ) and check the road... a lovely beautiful purple looking rainbow lathered across the road.

it took me 3 feet to find diesel and that has just cost me 180 pounds to fix. so i gotta wait 2 weeks to get it fixed ( then i'm getting it delivered to my house where i know the roads are clean! )

but urrrm. anyone else got any embarrassing stories they wanna share ? :P

I slid off my diesel in Denmark on an island NEWLY surfaced .
When i told the Local folk .They said it is allways Slipery on new TARED surface.
This was made even worse by it RAINING at the time .
RIDE with CARE and LIVE LONG to enjoy your MOTORCYCLNG.

Well Rex,
I found a patch of diesel-polluted road in Kelso while returning to the Rally site after the Saturday run, also on a rain-soaked road surface. In this case it caused nearly £600 worth of damage to my G11 and Barbour jacket, and a broken ankle for me. There were no easily visible 'tell-tale' signs on the road, but fortunately I was riding well within the speed limit!!
Will we see you at the NEC show this year, beard, braces and all?
Best regards.

If you ask very nicely I could consider a detour via Comberton on my way to the show!!
