I would say 7/16 long, 5/16 wide depending on hole dia, just under 1/8 high

Interesting! Although all my headlight shells have the holes in the same place as in the pics, NONE are tear-drop-shaped as per your picture - they have smaller, square holes instead (now fitted with rubber bungs)...the mystery deepens!
I see the fairy lights are marked "Wipac", so are very likely "as fitted".

Maybe he holes are square to take a square spigot on the back of the "fairy lights" but from the top the "lights are tear drop shape??Al_Bolton wrote:Interesting! No, look at the pics - there's a definite edge/ridge around the area for the fairy lights...mine DO NOT have this...I'm still not fitting any...
