Application of an oily rag after a run usually cures this ;o)

1962 G2 250CSR Base Gasket Leaks
Without knowing this model I would say that maybe you should look for the oil leak elsewhere! Maby it originates from an oil line, pushrod tunnel or even the top of the engine and then seeps to the base of the cylinder. I tried to find a similar leak on my G80 only to discover that the leaking oil actually originated from a pushrod tunnel, creeping around the base of the cylinder.
Good hunting!

1962 G2 250CSR Base Gasket Leaks
hi david,
i think your model is similar to mine, i have a 1959 g2. i also had an oil leak at the rear, but it was coming from the breather outlet just under the engine/gearbox cover. a full strip down revealed that the breather and rotor were worn out.
i replaced both and have not had an oil leak since.
let me know if you need any more advice, not many lightweight owners about on here i think.
regards,
alan
