Very new to this forum & classic bikes !
I have a matchless 350cc G5 & need to fit a new return spring
Can any one explain how this is done??

Basically, take the engine cover off, drain the gearbox oil, undo the 6 screws holding the gearbox together, take off the end cover and the kickstart spring is there.
I'm not sure how you tension the new spring though. It's easy enough with the gearbox dismantled, but I can imagine that it is “difficult†to do with the gearbox in place...
