Hi Don,
This is how I have the brake light switch set up on my '54 G80s - no idea if it is standard but it is neat and tucked out of the way. I have seen these switches for sale on ebay. I have wired it to the negative wire leading to the horn (positive earth, so wire to + side of horn if you are running a negative earth), so it is "live", like the horn, even with the light switched off on the headlight (standard - I think). It is located using a thread below the LHS pillion rest. Hope this is of interest/help.
